PDR to Host Conference on International Disability Programs

The Program for Disability Research will host a conference on the results of its Learning from Others project. This research project surveyed the disability benefits program of eight foreign countries, with particular focus on temporary and partial disability programs.

Representatives from each of the participating countries, as well as from the United States and international disability communities will join the PDR

for this special event to be held in Washington, D.C. on July 21-22, 2004.

The conference will include presentations on the research findings of the study, as well as discussions of the pertinent issues raised by the findings. The successes and limitations of various systems of partial disability benefits, temporary short-term benefits and long-term or permanent benefits may be debated among attendees.
